Tax system in Togo

Togo taxes employment income through the IRPP (impot sur le revenu des personnes physiques), an eight-band annual scale from 0% to 35% (Office Togolais des Recettes, article 74). The taxable base is gross salary minus employee social contributions, then a 28% professional abatement on the fraction of after-social income up to 10,000,000 XOF (at most 2,800,000 XOF). Employee social totals 9%: CNSS pension 4% and the AMU universal health insurance 5%, mandatory for salaried workers since 2024 and uncapped. The first 900,000 XOF a year is tax-free and the top 35% rate applies above 20,000,000 XOF. Lome is Togo's capital and main base for expatriate professionals, with a growing port and services economy.
