Rwanda taxes employment income through PAYE with four bands from 0% to 30%, computed on gross pay (employee RSSB contributions are not deductible from the tax base). The schedule in force for 2026 taxes the 60,001 to 100,000 RWF per month band at a transitional 10%, the next band at 20%, and income above 200,000 RWF per month at 30%. Mandatory employee RSSB contributions are pension at 6% and maternity at 0.3% of gross. Kigali has become a regional hub for services, technology and conferences, drawing expatriate professionals.
