Chad taxes salaries through the IRPP with an annual 6-band scale from 0% (up to 800,000 XAF) to 30% above 12,000,000 XAF (CGI art. 1-IV, wording of the 2023 finance law, unchanged through the 2026 finance law). The base is gross pay minus the deductible employee CNPS pension retention of 3.5%, whose base is capped at 500,000 XAF per month (art. 47; decree 1137/2007). The former 40% abatement was repealed by the 2018 finance law. Taxation is individual: no family quotient (art. 4). The employer withholds one twelfth of the annual tax each month (art. 122).
