Salary equivalence
What to earn abroad to live the same
Two answers to what looks like one question: the gross that gives back your net, and the gross that gives back your standard of living. Official tax scales and price levels.

Enter a gross salary and pick where you earn it and where you are going.
This corridor, with your own two salaries: the Expat Package Report computes the net at both ends, aligned in euros, and the real gap.

Most salary converters answer one question: which gross, at destination, leaves the same net. That is a question about tax scales, and it has an exact answer. It is not the question the person moving is asking, because the same net does not buy the same things in two places.
The second answer adjusts the target by the ratio of the two price levels before solving the gross. It answers what was actually asked: which salary lets you live as you live today. The gap between the two figures is what an advertised gross never tells you.
Two corridors that diverge in opposite directions
| Corridor | Starting net | Same net | Same purchasing power |
|---|---|---|---|
| France to Geneva | €52,707 | €65,163 | €93,945 |
| France to Portugal | €52,707 | €89,782 | €57,720 |
On a starting gross of €80,000, single with no children. Computed at build by the same engines as the net salary calculators, and recomputed on your own figures by the tool above.
