Regional and communal surcharges (addizionali) are included at a representative combined rate of about 2.5%; the actual rate varies by region and municipality, roughly 2% to 4%. Employment tax credits (detrazioni per lavoro dipendente), which lower the tax most at lower incomes, are not yet modelled, so the income tax shown can be overstated for lower salaries.
