Net taxable salary is gross minus a 30% professional-expenses abatement (capped at 4,800,000 XAF/year since the 2024 Finance Law), minus the employee CNPS pension, minus a 500,000 XAF fixed allowance. A 10% communal surcharge (CAC) is then added to the income tax. Employee contributions are CNPS pension 4.2% (capped at 750,000 XAF/month) and the CFC housing levy 1% (not deductible from the tax base). Currency is XAF (CFA Franc BEAC), pegged to EUR at 655.957.
